RSS in Education
The purpose of this activity was to create and narrate a screencast of how to use an RSS aggregator to subscribe to RSS feeds. In the screencast, the following information was covered.
- What does RSS stand for?
- What are RSS feeds and why are they helpful?
- How do you subscribe to RSS feeds?
- How might you organize an RSS feed reader?
- What are your plans for maintaining your RSS feed reader?
I learned that an RSS feeder is a valuable technology tool for accessing up-to-date articles, newsfeeds blogs, and podcasts of interest. The news comes to you so you do not have to go look for it. You can also pick the information that you want to read instead of sorting through information that you do not need.
I learned that screencasting on Screencastify is an easy way to make and upload videos without having to download a programming language like JavaScript. You can also edit and save your screencast easily and quickly to your computer, your drive or share it on YouTube.
